About the Foundation

The Delta Zeta Foundation funds many of the Sorority's educational and leadership programs, as well as its philanthropic endeavors for the speech and hearing impaired. The Delta Zeta Foundation also offers scholarships and grants for qualified members who have demonstrated academic excellence and/or financial need.

These are awarded annually, some for general studies, others for specific fields. You will be able to apply for these scholarships once you are initiated. Scholarship descriptions and applications are sent to all chapters in the fall of each year and are available on Delta Zeta's Web site. Please see your chapter's Academics Chairman for further information.

Foundation support comes from thousands of members and friends who have pride in the Sorority and believe in the value of assisting Delta Zetas in their academic endeavors. They understand that financing a quality education has become more difficult. Many make donations to the Foundation through the Annual Fund, a scheduled annual giving campaign. It is hoped that all Delta Zetas, after leaving college, will make an annual contribution to the Annual Fund to provide the funds necessary to produce ongoing leadership and educational programming for the collegians. Contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible. Other donors make provisions for Delta Zeta in their wills, ensuring that their belief in the Sorority's values and in the women who will become members will carry on the fine tradition and standing of Delta Zeta.

About1

A unique way for undergraduates to contribute to the Foundation is through the 1902 Loyalty Society. For a minimum gift of $19.02 to the Foundation, an undergraduate receives a dangle/charm. There is a different charm for each of the four undergraduate years. This program is designed to increase collegiate awareness of the Foundation and to expand the number of collegiate donors.

Every sister is encouraged to give financial support to the Foundation, Delta Zeta's educational and charitable entity. Thanks to many generous contributions, the Foundation has been able to fund a growing number of programs and projects in the years since it was established.
